Pave setting a single row of alternating rubies and diamonds allows both sparkle and simplicity in an eternity ring. Pave settings are created by creating distinctive indentations in the metal for each gem to sit flush with the band, and molding small prongs of metal to hold each gem in place. This is a superb method to use smaller diamonds and find a striking, tasteful engagement ring for a modest cost.
